How FamilyTravelTracker works

  1. Add your trips

Put every flight, hotel, rental, tour, and activity on the shared family calendar.

  2. Track the fares that matter

Point a Fare Signal at a route and dates. The engine schedules its own re-checks around the events that actually move prices.

  3. Get a clear signal

See BUY NOW, WAIT, or WATCH with a predicted floor, a trend, and the best booking window — then book with confidence.

  4. Share across households

Invite a co-parent, subscribe to the calendar feed, and keep both homes in sync.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Fare Signal?

A Fare Signal is a recommendation — BUY NOW, WAIT, or WATCH — that FamilyTravelTracker produces for a trip you're tracking, along with a predicted price floor and the best booking window.

Why event-driven instead of daily price checks?

Prices move around predictable events — the booking window opening, a holiday surge, a demand spike near departure. We re-evaluate a trip when it crosses one of those boundaries, so you get a timely signal without constant noise.

Are these real airline prices?

The starter model uses a clearly-labeled synthetic price provider. A real fare data provider drops in behind the same interface without changing how the app works.

How does the shared calendar stay in sync?

Each calendar has a private ICS feed URL. Subscribe to it in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook and it updates automatically while your subscription is active.
